Dear Sir/Madam [ENTER NAME HERE],

As Russia's illegal invasion of Ukraine nears the third year it is clear that more needs to be done both to support Ukraine and punish Russia. S-278 does just that, allowing Russian assets that have already been frozen to be seized and repurposed towards aiding Ukraine.

The US has already enacted a law like this. In April of 2024, the US passed the REPO Act, which allows Russian assets held in American banks to be confiscated and transferred to Ukraine. In Europe, Estonia was the first country to confiscate and use Russian funds to aid Ukraine.

A poll by Nanos Research showed that 81% of Canadians support Canada seizing the Canadian-held assets of Russia and using these assets to help Ukrainians. I do too. As a voter from your district I ask that you act as my voice in Parliament and help pass S-278 once it reaches the House. Thank you.

Yours Sincerely,

[YOUR NAME]

Contact your Senator:

This part is less important since Senators are appointed by the Governor General via the recommendation of the Prime Minister. However, S-278 started in the senate and still needs to be passed there, so contacting the Senator from your province won't hurt.
